Classical music Location Lutheran Church Utrecht It looks like a normal facade, but behind the stately facade is a church. When the doors are open and you are given a look inside from the street, it is clear that the Hamburgerstraat houses a special building: The Lutheran Church. Because only Protestantism was the permissible religion around 1612, many forbidden faith communities came together in private houses. Ultimately, this happened in the Hamburgerstraat. The Lutheran congregation was banned from ringing bells, because only (Reformed) Protestant congregations were allowed to do this. A special feature of the church is that the façade was executed in the Louis XIV style. The facade thus has similarities with Amsterdam canal houses from the same time. In addition, the tower was given a wind vane in the shape of a swan. This is the symbol for Luther. elgutrecht.nl Calendar Lutheran Church Utrecht Classical music Classical music Plastic Party Lutheran Church Utrecht Date Fri 27 Dec Time 11:00
