Lofen Palace

Visit Lofen Palace and travel back in time to the 12th century. On 2 June 1122, Henry V, the Holy Roman Emperor, granted Utrecht city rights in this palace. In 1253, it was destroyed by a fire, but remnants survived in the cellars under the buildings between Domplein and Vismarkt. The remains of the former imperial Lofen Palace remained hidden for centuries. Today, you can explore the underground corridors and learn how the city of Utrecht was born.
