Freedom City 8 Festival

The weekend of 13-16 June, we’re turning the city of Utrecht into an international hub for hiphop. Freedom City 8 brings you 4 days of dance, battles and music. Whether it’s on the big stage, in the club, or outside on the streets: we come together and celebrate street dance culture and other hiphop artforms. For anyone who is passionate about dance, music and the community!

Dancers from all over the world come to Utrecht to compete in various dance battles. A mix of different street and club styles (such as hiphop, breaking, and krump) will bring a diverse showcase of both graceful and explosive movements. The winners will be chosen by a jury of world-renowned dancers from both the Netherlands and abroad.

Local and international music artists showcase their skills on the mic, making the whole room bounce and serving us everything from that classic boombap sound to the latest trap and drill energy.

Freedom City returns for its eighth edition during the weekend of June 13-15. As Utrecht’s largest hiphop festival, it takes over venues like TivoliVredenburg, De Helling, Theater Kikker, SSBU, and a club night at Ekko, bringing you the best in dance battles, DJ sets, and live performances.
