Book Talk: Abdelaziz Baraka Sakin

Abdelaziz Baraka Sakin is one of the most prominent writers from Sudan today. His books depict social life, war and sexuality in Sudan. Baraka Sakin was forced into exile and his works have been banned in Sudan, but have circulated secretly among Sudanese. We will talk to Abdelaziz Baraka Sakin about his novel Samahani, legacies of the past and struggles for justice in Sudan today.

Afterwards we are joined by Sudanese human rights defender Abdulaal Hussein. Across the Sands: from Khartoum to the Rhine, is the title of his talk.
Join us on the 19th for an inspiring afternoon filled with Sudanese literature, stories from Sudan today and delicious Sudanese food.

This program is in English.
