Saxophonist, composer and DJ Susanne Alt returns to her jazz roots with her latest album Royalty For Real. It is a tribute to legendary trumpeter Roy Hargrove. With more than a hundred performances a year, the Amsterdam-based Alt made a name for herself as a versatile artist and pioneer in combining live jazz and dance. During the corona pandemic, when her schedule was suddenly empty, the idea arose to return to the acoustic jazz she once broke through with. And particularly to the inspiration of the trumpeter Hargrove, who died far too early.
