Lily&Janick: Kaleiding

Two performers, four bodies. Kaleiding is a meditative spectacle between hypnotic (ever-changing) forms and new perspectives on contemporary partner acrobatics. With a large mirror as a stage, Lily&Janick invite the audience on a journey into a seemingly perfectly balanced world, which feels like a long look through a kaleidoscope. But what happens when not everything is as perfect as it seems. When you bring light into the dart and something shifts? How do we deal with changes in our environment and how long can we hold on to something transient?

Kaleiding is the debut performance of the circus company Lily&Janick. Both are young artists from Berlin, now based in Rotterdam. Janick Kremer is a base, acrobat and aerial straps artist with a movement background in the Korean martial art Shinson Hapkido. Lily is a flyer, tightrope walker and slackrope balancer and brings a distinct visual aesthetic to the company through her work as a photographer. Since 2016, Lily&Janick have been working together in a partner acrobatics duo. Together they graduated from the Codarts University of the Arts in Rotterdam (NL).
