Sensitive bluesfolk with warm, sparkling guitars – that’s what American Sam Amidon brings to his shows. Sam Amidon was immersed in music from a young age. His musical parents taught him both consciously and unconsciously about folk music and everything that came with it. Now, with seven full albums to his name and major collaborations with, among others, Bon Iver, Sam Amidon is an established folk singer. In addition to performing folk music, Sam Amidon also teaches, particularly to Paul Mescal and Josh O’Connor for the upcoming film The History of Sound, a film about two men recording folk songs at the beginning of the 20th century.

Amidon’s new work Salt River combines traditional folk with the rawness of free jazz. Amidon is inspired by simple and fundamental truths of life, such as human connection and community. He draws these themes from the music his parents used to play.
