What You See is a multidisciplinary international arts festival revolving around gender and identity. Here’s a sneak preview for you. 14 to 17 November, various locations, whatyouseefestival.nl Queer Chronicles #1 With an eclectic bunch of artists that bring their dance, theatre, music and drag to the stage, as well as their personality and activism. Xillan Macrooy, for instance, shares the personal songs of his new album and dance company Introdans shows the short, but impactful performance UNIQUE. The alternative and political drag collective Drek Manor is host of the evening and will present part of their successful Parade show. 16 November, Stadsschouwburg Utrecht People I Admire Photographer Pelle Bonink pays tribute to people from the Dutch and German queer club scenes. Filled with admiration for their nightly self-expression, Pelle shows their power, extravagance and beauty. 11 to 17 November, Bibliotheek Neude The Basement Choreographer Daniel Mariblanca and his transinclusive dance company 71BODIES explore Daniel’s deepest, most intense feelings. Those feelings that are indescribable by words, but that dig into the very core of your soul. A physically impressive performance in which fiction and reality exist together. 17 November, Theater Kikker This resting, patience This dance performance by Ewa Dziarnowska and Leah Marojević explores themes of attraction, repetition, form and feeling. The way you enter and exit the room, become part of the audience, take in the dance and immerse yourself in the atmosphere all shapes the collective experience.
