In 2019, the third large restoration of the Dom Tower started. All the residual material from the restoration are given a new lease of life. For example, one million bricks have been made from rubble and grit from the tower. A quarter of these will be used in the construction of the sustainable Merwede district. Want to discover more about the renovation history of the Dom Tower? The exhibition In de steigers! shows you how restorers have been able to preserve this masterpiece in the last seven centuries.
